Residency Program

Sampson’s Prosthetic & Orthotic Laboratory offers an array of learning opportunities for those looking to enter the field by welcoming students, residents, and other interested individuals to train under our experienced staff. Sampson’s is an ABC and NCOPE-accredited private practice offering services across five locations in New York with central fabrication to develop hand and technical skills. We aim to provide comprehensive, high-quality, compassionate care to every prosthetic and orthotic patient we meet in a highly collaborative environment between clinical, technical, and administrative staff.

Our residency program aims to integrate residents within our team and provide opportunities to gain experience and increase independence with various patient populations and advanced technologies.

We invite self-motivated students, prospective residents, and other interested individuals who want to be part of this shared mission to apply via email with their CV, resume, and reference list of 2 individuals (one professional, one academic).

What Past Residents Have To Say:

"When I first walked through Sampson’s doors, I was greeted warmly by everyone there, and I knew that this was a fantastic facility to complete my residency in. Being able to engage with new and emerging technologies constantly means that we are always able to provide the best possible care for our patients and stay up to date with all new and exciting discoveries in the O&P field. Learning here is a fast-paced, hands-on experience that enriches your knowledge quickly. No matter the challenge, Sampson’s is able to find a solution."

"Sampson's offered me the best prosthetic residency experience I could've wanted. I was afforded guidance and independence when appropriate, within a sensible and robust timeline. The variety of patient presentations, consistency in patient care, and carefully crafted learning experience gave me the tools I needed to be confident long after my residency."
