Advanced technology products include:
i-LIMB™ Hand
The i-LIMB Hand from Touch Bionics offers the use of five individually powered digits, which bend and move in addition to open and close. Grip options support almost all daily activities and the thumb can be rotated into different positions just as a biological thumb can. The i-LIMB Hand relies on advanced control software, which provides speed and grip-strength control to the device while patients generate signals to control it in a way that mimics how traditional myoelectric devices have operated in the past.
C-Leg®
The Otto Bock HealthCare C-Leg® and Compact™ microprocessor-controlled knees are designed to deliver the best in stability and reliability, even walking down stairs step over step and walking up and down inclines. The on-board computer built into the knee senses and calculates the needs of the user more than 50 times a second.
DynamicArm®
The DynamicArm® from Otto Bock HealthCare, the most advanced myoelectric prosthesis for transhumeral amputees, provides a greater range of motion, closely mimics natural arm movements, and allows for quick, exact positioning of the hand, even with heavy objects. It's microprocessor communication system results in a faster transfer of information that commands the arm to move.
Utah Arm
Since 1981, the Utah Arm from Motion Control, Inc. has been the premier myoelectric arm for above elbow amputees, letting the wearer move the arm and hand slowly or quickly in any position. The newest Utah Arm 3 (U3) has a computer interface that allows the prosthetist or wearer to fine-tune the adjustments to achieve maximum performance.
Harmony® VASS™ system
The Harmony® system by Otto Bock applies Harmony® VASS™ (Vacuum-Assisted Socket System) technology. The technology creates an elevated vacuum between the patient's liner and socket wall, promoting natural fluid exchange and a secure fit.
MAS Socket
The MAS socket for AK amputees allows the wearer to sit on their gluteal muscle group, not the hard socket brim. This keeps the pelvis balanced during sitting, increasing comfort and cosmetic appearance.
Alpha® MAX Liner
The Alpha MAX liner by Ohio Willow Wood incorporates thermoplastic elastomer gel for conditioning the skin and an abrasion-resistant fabric outer cover. The liner offers a stabilizing strip that reduces movement that can occur in locking liners as volume changes.
Flex Foam™
Designed for patients that cannot tolerate a rigid orthosis, the Flex Foam offers a soft inner layer for the relief of bony prominences while a combination of the dense outer foam and rigid external frame support the torso. The exterior thermoplastic shell is removable and can be strategically trimmed to provide anterior, lateral and posterior rotary control as indicated by treatment goals.
