Accreditation
At Sampson's, you'll find board-certified prosthetists and orthotists. That means we're qualified professionals who have successfully completed a rigorous examination process by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics, Inc. (ABC).
ABC requires practitioners to complete a prescribed number of continuing education units (CEUs) - which include seminars, courses, and other board-approved activities - to maintain their accreditation.
In addition to our practitioners being board certified, we also have ABC facility accreditation. The accreditation process is reviewed every three years to ensure a facility is conducting its practice in accordance with ABC standards for patient care, administrative policies and procedures, and workplace accommodations.
ABC accreditation for both practitioners and facilities is the most highly regarded achievement and represents attaining the most stringent level of standards in the field of orthotics and prosthetics.
The American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics Inc. has been credentialing practitioners and organizations since 1948, in accordance with established standards of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive patient care. A not-for-profit organization headquartered in Alexandria, Va., the ABC's mission is to encourage and promote the highest standards of professionalism in the delivery of orthotic and prosthetic services.
